The Texas Music Office (TMO), part of the Governor’s Office of Economic Development and Tourism, is the nation’s first and longest-running state music office, serving as the voice of Texas’ commercial music industry since 1990. TMO promotes the growth of Texas music businesses, musicians, and communities.
The Music Friendly Texas Certified Community Program, launched in 2016, connects over 60 communities to foster music industry development and attract professionals by signaling their commitment to industry growth.
TMO maintains a comprehensive Texas Music Industry Database, bridges music businesses with government, influences state and federal policy, highlights industry milestones, and attracts vital music industry to Texas.
